Co-op horror game
What is Phasmophobia the game?
Phasmophobia offers a new take on asymmetrical horror games. As a ghost hunter, you accept jobs from various locations. It can be in a populated suburban area, an isolated cabin, or an abandoned asylum. You can enter alone or join forces with other players. Whether you play in single-player or co-op mode, your task is to enter the location, track the ghost, and collect proof of its existence.
There are 12 types of ghosts in this game: namely, the Oni, Yurei, Demon, Shade, Revenant, Mare, Jinn, Banshee, Poltergeist, Phantom, Wraith, and Spirit. They each have their own strength, weakness, and method of detection. It is up to you to identify its kind before it drains your Sanity; ghosts will become more active and aggressive as time passes by.
Their aggressiveness does not have any limits—the ghosts will eventually murder anyone that is disturbing its peace. Be careful to identify which activities are created by the ghost or by the game itself. The dark and eerie atmosphere is the game’s default design. It does not rely on frightening you with jumpscares or things suddenly popping in and out of frame.
How do you play Phasmophobia?
Playing Phasmophobia in co-op mode will help you survive longer and play more efficiently. Members of your team can support you by monitoring the security footage and motion sensors. They can watch from inside the truck or go with you inside the location. While having more people inside will make the ghost hostile, you’ll be able to save each other’s lives in real-time.
The game employs realistic graphics and sounds to instill fear in the players. It also helps that it has a minimal user interface, ensuring a completely immersive experience that will put everyone on the edge of their seats. You can also use a virtual reality headset to play the game—Phasmophobia supports all VR systems. The game also supports cross-platform and cross-save gameplay.
You will also need a microphone to play this game as you will use your real voice to interact with the ghosts—either through an Ouija Board or during EVP sessions. Your other hunting equipment includes EMF Readers, Spirit Boxes, Thermometers, and Night Vision Cameras. It’s important to save the evidence once you’re done recording it. Without proof, you will not be able to sell it to the mediums or ghost removal team.
